Yes it will always remain current, the only details that may change are the image revisions.

Thank you. One other question. I do not understand Linux even slightly or writing code of any sort. I run XP and (Vista Laptop)...would a Linux based laptop be a major advantage ( XP or Vista pc to Linux based box) and should I learn some Linux. I am very likely to go for a Eagle.

No there is no need to migrate to a linux pc as mostly all applications for communication between the eagle and pc is accomplished by windows applications.
