View Full Version : cccam channel info?
first post so please be gentle, lol. a mate has given me his dreambox to try to sort out, never had one before but he reckons i'd have abetter chance of getting him up and running, so after browsing thru the posts I've got gemini 4.60 on and fathomed out how to get a picture and where to put the softcam key. However I've downloaded a cccam channel info file (CCcam channel info by juli13) thinking if i load this Id get all the sats from 42e - 43w can someone please tell me where to ftp this file on a dm500s please, thank you for any replies.
To install cccam info on Gemini connect it to the internet, press the blue button and select addons from the menu and plugins, then select cccaminfo and it will be installed automatically and available from the plugins menu.
Be aware that cccam.info is used in card sharing on the dreambox using cccam for information on connected peers etc.. and does not give general channel information.
thanks Pawnee, I'd used the plug-in option when I tried over his place and your correct I loaded up the settings for 1 west from the server, however since then he's asked me to take the box home and sort it and I've got limited internet access (dongle) and wondered if there was any other option to loading satellite info onto the box. I understand I'm limited to what i can actually do with the box without an internet conection however when the lad got his first box we did something similar (TM1500) and once it was set up he learned at his own speed. appreciate any help in this thank you

4. Select manual install and the file in /tmp from the dialog box that appeasrs.
5. install
It should now be available under the plugins menu.
Thank you Pawnee, may I ask one more question? am i correct that an ethernet cable is used via the router to gain access to the box using dcc and not a null modem cable, and that the null modem cable is only used to flash the box with an image via dream-up and similar programs. once again thanks for the assist.
Yes use an ethernet cable and set up the dreambox network through the settings>expertmenu, just tick dhcp if it does not find your details.
