what are ecm times

i have heard that the new multicas is out and a big step up from the older version and 1 thing peopel keep saying is the the ECM TIMES are alot faster.

can someone please let me know what ecm stands for so i know if its worth me getting the new multicas,

ECM = Entitlement Control Message

The people who are saying that are probably card sharing, it just means how fast ecm's are getting from the server card to the client (dreambox etc).
