View Full Version : Spider5000 channels encrypted or srambled
swcc PLEASE, I was hoping if you could help me. I have a spider 5000. I have managed to setup my satellite system. I now receive both thor 2,3 and Eutel se w4. But they are all encrypted or srambled. I was wondering what update must I apply to the receiver to be able to watch these channels. I think the box was setup to view Hotbird and Astra, but where I am I cannot get those two satellite signals. But it receives thor 2, 3 and Eutel se w4 very well.

then turn UCAS & UCAS Autoroll to "ON"
Can anyone help me to get my spiderbox sd 5000 to show the Eutel se w4. It tells me a scrambled. All the channels are locked.
I still have the same problem. But all the experts here cannot fit this problem. No one has any idea on how to descramble the sipderbox sd 5000 to show the Eutel w 4 , w7 channels. I am in africa Nigeria and I get a get signal from Eutel w 4,w7 the only channel I get is Ntv. All the other channels are scrambled.

You need to provide more details on your receiver so we can try and help you.
Did you buy receiver with the Gift+ or without.
If with gift, have you activated it and do you get a connection
What patches / softcam have you loaded
it comes with the Gift
that is done from point of sale
I have a spiderbox sd 5000. I live in Nigeria. I got the box while I was in uk. The man said it will work anywhere in the world so far I get a satellite signal.
Well, I do get a great satellite signal from these satellite thor 3,5,5 and Eutelsat w4,w7 and also Astra 2A,2B,2D/Eur. But they are all scrambled. I get to see only NTV a Uganda channel and it is very clear. I used to get 2 chinese channels, but since I updated there are now scrambled.
I have downloaded the latest softcam or whatever it is called from darkman and still does not work.
I am connected to the internet, I know that works because it tells me when my box will expire, when I am connected to the internet.
Can someone please tell me where or what am I doing wrong or is the whole spiderbox just a trick.
I have been on a lot of forums and there is no help from anyone.

Channels will not clear unless
1. They are part of the gift channels provided with the purchase
2. The can be cleared using a softcam (only a few channels can now be cleared using this method)
3. You have an active Cline provided by a peer containing the provider you require (this is up t your self to find)
The box is not magic and does not autmatically clear every provider on every satellite, you also need to provide information on what you have tried to date and what firmware you have currently in use.
Without the information it is hard to help anyone.
The spiderbox is not a trick it is an excellent piece of kit but it is not magic and you need to do a bit yourself to get it working to the best of its ability that includes you doing a bit of reading and research.
This is one of the most widely supported boxes in existance but you seem to expect it to set itself up and work on every channel.

I believe I have a gift channel package. It was purchased with the box and when I connect to the internet via a router I see my expiry date which is 2011/06/08. I believe this to be the exactly one year to the time it was activated.
I have downloaded the latest softcam from the spiderbox web site via darkman and the spiderbox tells me it is to update, I might be wrong. I do not need all the channels to be open just a few.
I do not know what cline is as you put in your number 3 statement. When I got the box it had Hotbird 13E and Astra setup on the box. But where I am, I do not think I can get does satellite signals here. But when I updated the channel list it scanned and gave me Eutelsat w4,w7 and Thor 3,5,6 and also Astra 2A, 2B, 2D/Eur, but they all came up scrambled.
I do not expect it to work on every channel. Just on a few especially news.

I don't understand that how you can receive signal from Thor satellite ?
What's your dish size ?
I have a 1m dish. I get 39 channels (0001 CH.201, 0002 CH.202 and so on) all the way to 0039 CH.214. I get the signal on Thor 3,5,6 satellite. But they are all scrambled. The satellite is on 00.8 degrees W and the signal is very strong.I get signal strength on 75 percent and quality level of 85. on frequency 12054 27500 H
My spiderbox SD-5000 is still not working. I have rescanned and I have so many satellite channels from different satellites. I get a Astra 2A,2B,2D/Eur and Astra 1E,1G,3A and Astra 1H.1KR,1L,1M and Astra 2C and final Hotbird 6.8.9. Some give very clear signal some I have not signal. But they are all scrambled. Does anyone have a spiderbox sd 5000 that is working. If you do can you please help me get my own box working. I believe I got the box with the gift . since they are included at point of sale.
I am beginning to think that there is nobody that really knows how to setup this spiderbox. There must be a direct way to setup the box, at the same time a trouble shoot guide, incase you run into trouble. But there does not seem to be any of this. I have been all over the net. I even see my user Id popping up all over the place in search engines. And if I say too much they kick me off their forum. The creator of this box, thinks everybody is a techno man. There is no real direct help. Some guy was telling I have to do some research before the box can work. Does that make it sound easy to setup. Maybe I ma not just smart enough. I have been at t for the past 6 weeks. I have come across so many web site, which I have to register to get any form of help only to find there is not help there too. I am tired. My advice to anybody who wants to get the spiderbox is DO NOT GET IT. It is not as easy as you think. Talking from my own clever stupidity experience. Can someone not insult me , but please prove me wrong and help get my box working.

The spider is one of the easiest receivers around to setup an a lot easier than most.
First make sure you have tha newest patch on your box.
Goto the network menu and press 1111
Setup your network (use auto ip first)
select nuevoxstream and turn on
Got to the motor menu, drive your dish to centre, put in you lat & long position.
Reboot
Select a satellite and scan
That should get you started
If there is nobody that really knows how to setup this spiderbox, how have 99% of users got it working without trouble!!!
Most people follow the guide without problem.

99.5% don't have a problem.
However, following a g00gle search under your user name, leads to many sites where many many users offering help/asking for more detail, have not had replies. Slagging the spiderbox and failing to reply when you are offered help, will not encourage anyone to rush to your aid.
Please can you give a specific channel name and frequency, on a sat (name and degrees E or W) you can recieve, that you "think" should clear with the gift?
Have you cross checked what is available on the gift, with what channels you can recieve?
What patch version is loaded into your spiderbox?
What is the date of the softcam you have loaded?
Are you connected to the internet all the time you are trying to watch TV or just whilst you are trying to update?
How is your spiderbox telling you "and the spiderbox tells me it is to update" ??
You list some channels on Thor "0001 CH.201, 0002 CH.202 and so on) all the way to 0039 CH.214" . Do these channels have names listed?
There are very good tutorials both here and elsewhere (you have been there) and following then should have got you up and running. However, if you are stuck, maybe making a simple mistake along the way, then we will really need to have all answers to our questions.
Maybe this is yet another abandoned thread but let's see.
