Hi every one hop you are all ok, I do have Dreambox multimedia 7000s for about 5 years but I never knew how to use it properly I have heard that I can receive some pay channels for free, can somebody help my how to do it?

Hi Mate

You have been missing alot of fun mate - heres what ur need

First of all u need to be able to communicate with your box so make sure u are able to telnet ur box or use cable connected direct to the dream using DDC. option one i find is best
then you need a good FTP programe like cute to send data to your stb.

If you look around this site and others your find many key files that open some packages these are stored in the var/key file.

There are a number of emu's to select mgcamd - evocamd etc the other option you have to consider is do u wish to use the limited amount of keys that open channels or join in a network with others known as a share. You will not find too much on this openly discussed but if you look hard enough im sure your find what your looking for.
Special emu's are used for these like CCcam - GBox , they can be a pain to set up but normally your find other users only too happy to assist with the setup.
The best way forward for now is plenty of reading if u do a google on dream -share or CS your see what your about to get into learn to walk before u start to run with it and understand what your doing its not easy at first but soon it all comes together.

Thank you very much for your comment unfortunately I don’t have any knowledge of how to worked out what you where saying. Could you please tell me from where do I have to start, which image is the best and so on.
At the moment I am using pli image think green Jade and I am connected to internet I can upgrade image and download software such as soft com....

Hi mate

Ok you have a Dream 7000 with pli image first of all i would buy yourself a usb memory stick say a gig will do depending how much u wanna pay and in your box store an basic image and use the usb to save other images like nabilosat ect.

Your need a programe called flash wizzard pro 6.3 u will find on net which will load images to the stick, once you have the images on the stick you can then start to update it with keys and emu's like CCcam - evocamd - newcs etc

Have you started going a google search for dream FAQ to start the learning process ??

So can you confirm are you able to telnet your box via lan or are you connected via cable link. Come back and we shall move forward

Thanks for that. First of all I have got 1G USB memory stick which is stick to the back of the box and I have already swap files between ver. and USB stick. And I got flash wizard pro 6.3 but I never used it so I don’t believe I can talent the box, the box is connected to my pc and internet via cable.
I will go to Google and search as well.

Hi mate

ok lets look at this one.... using ur remote go to setup menu and then select expert setup then open communication, here u will find the IP for your box - make a note of it, I have checked the dchp box and given the dream its own IP in my network.

disconnect the cable from your pc to the dream

Now open ur dos window and type telnet (return) and then type open 192 ... ... ... this being the IP you wrote down from your dreambox.

Now you should be asked the user/password for the stb always good to have this as a line of defence from hackers

Now ur see root@dm7000:# ......type PS
now ur see the bootup of the box something like this

If you have emu like CCcam running it will show if its booted with your box in this list

also to make a emu work u can use commands in this list to make them work something like this...

type ..... cd /var/bin
dream responds
type..... chmod 755 CCcam.ppc
dream responds
type ..... exit
This little command would activate the CCcam emu that is placed in the var/bin folder

other parts of this emu are added to var/etc so to activate them u would do this

type.... cd /var/etc
dream responds
type... chmod 755 CCcam.cfg
dream responds
type... chmod 755 CCcam.channelinfo
dream responds
type... chmod 755 CCcam.prio
dream responds
type... chmod 755 CCcam.providers
dream responds
type... exit
Note you have to make sure the name typed is the same as what is loaded in the file or this command will be rejected dont worry if it does just check your spelling and inmput again.

The same applys to any emu you input to the dream

I am sorry to bother you again I have checked my DM box but i don’t have an option for expert setup. I don’t know if I have right image or not as I told you earlier, I am using Pli JADE think green.

OK do exactly what Voyager is saying but to make it easier do one step at a time.
Step one is to put boxman image in the flash, here is a link to the image

Use FW6.3 do do this.
Once you have flashed the box with boxman set up your av settings and communication settings and nothing more DO START SCANNING FOR SATS
Now you have set you communication setting use FW6.3 to install multi boot.
Once you are happy you have done this come back.;)

Hi mate

Ok to find this boot up your box when settled press menu button on pop up menu select setup.... now u will see another menu and at the botton of this is expert setup select this and then in the new menu choose communication setup you should now see the menu attached.

If the dhcp box is checked then every time u boot up your network will assign a new IP for the box so uncheck this and give the box its own static IP lets say 196.168.25.101 whatever u wanna choose but make note.
Netmask normally is the same 255.255.255.0... your connection will be lan
nameserver and gateway are the router IP - make sure the network box is checked
port 80 is the norm for linking the dreambox but can be changed if needed, when all changes are made press green button and exit.

Now if you follow the instructions already given you can telnet the box using the IP you have given it

Flash wizzard pro

open programe first click on icon that has two cogs
At the top are some boxes under connection parameters in these input the following
name: dream 7000
IP : the ip number u have given the box 192.xxx.xxx.xxx
Login: root
password : whatever u may have given it
then check the boxes for usb stick and compact flash and HDD if u have one installed
now click on box install /remove firmware on the left
If all goes well the program will find ur stb and report back whats held on your usb stick - hdd and flash also what image u have installed which will have a little red arrow beside it.
To install a new image to ur usb first find the image u wanna use and save to your pc, now click on folder on the right of the screen (drag and dropa file here) ur see a browser which u direct to file on your pc... select ur file and press ok it will then check thats what u wish to do and then ask where its to download too in this case we want to use usb so select usb icon and away it loads. On screen ur see the progress of the download to your usb stick do nothing until it tells u its loaded sucessfull.
Now if you check your dreambox u should see the image start to load, it will save the settings already installed like the ip and satellites etc
all you need to do is add the key files and emu's
Think that will be enough for now let us know when ur up to speed with this.

Thank to all of you for all the suggestions and afford you have made, I do appreciate your precious time and I don’t want to wasted.
I have tried everything you have told me but I couldn’t telnet the Box, when I try to telnet the box I receive this (Could not open connection to the host. on port 23 connect failed)

Hi guys I hope everyone is ok, I am back on the track, finally I have managed to communicate with the Dreambox. Now I am able to flash via flashWizard PRO I have install tow images Gemini_0450_DM7000 and Darkstar2_DM7000. One in USB and other one in the dreambox.
Now i don’t know what ells I can do, could you please guide me through haw to add key files and emu's to dream box 7000s thanks.
