don't know if we can talk about this here..but as i said i can upload some FAQ how to!!

Or the short version here:

1.On the box ensure You have a fixed IP (disable DHCP).
2.Forward port 12000 in Your router to the now fixed IP of the box.
3.If You have a static IP from Your ISP, You can skip this step. If You have a dynamic IP from Your ISP, You have to setup a dyndns account with dyndns.org (it's free of charge), to provide Your clients with an dyndns address (pointing to Your IP).
4.Now You need to add a client to Your config. Insert a line like this in Your /var/etc/CCcam.cfg:
F: frienduser friendpassword
where You exchange frienduser with a username of Your choice and exchange friendpassword with a password of Your choice.
5.Now Your friend have to add You as server. He/she must insert a line in his config like this:
C: example.dyndns.org 12000 frienduser friendpassword
where example.dyndns.org is exchanged by Your dyndns address or static IP. frienduser/friendpassword is exchanged by the ones You chose to use in Your F: line.
6.You're now sharing Your card to Your friend. If he has nothing to share, You don't need portforwarding and dyndns at his side. If he has a card to share to You, the above goes for his side too.

Happy sharing. HaCKaMaC.

No. MgCamd is another story. Stick to CCcam. Simple an versatile.

There are several possibilities for server protocol with MgCamd. The line You have for the server will tell You what protocol is used. The following example is for a NewCamd protocol server (most used):

1. Download and install MgCamd via addons.
2. Download and install MgCamd config via addons.
3. Insert Your server line in /var/keys/newcamd.list with the localhost server lines (eg. after CWS = 127.0.0.1 10001 local local 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 wan cardserver). The line should look something like this:
CWS = servername.dyndns.org 33333 username userpassword 86 94 25 67 96 24 07 46 73 24 68 55 38 95 wan servername

To receive the same server in CCcam:

1. Download and install CCcamd via addons.
2. Download and install CCcamd config via addons.
3. Insert following line in /var/etc/CCcam.cfg:

N: servername.dyndns.org 33333 username userpassword 86 94 25 67 96 24 07 46 73 24 68 55 38 95

If You have a completely different server line, You can send it (or first part of it) to me by PM. I'll try to identify it then and make a suitable example here.

Hello,i can install mgcamd in addons in eagle because it is already in emu but where is mgcamd config to install i can not find it.in newcamd list there are lines numbered up to 4,which number do i put the server line in.
when i look in var/keys i can see mg_cfg is that the file mgcamd config.

CWS = servername.dyndns.org 22222 login userpassword 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 wan cardserv
cs357x://login:userpassword@servername.dyndns.org:22222.
this is my server lines look like.
thanks for your help.

It's a NewCamd and a camd3 server then. You have to edit /var/keys/camd3.servers (put in Your cs357 server line). If You don't have the file, You can create it via telnet with the command:

touch /var/keys/camd3.servers

And You have to put Your CWS line to /var/keys/newcamd.list or /var/tuxbox/config/newcamd.conf. Don't remember which one of if both is valid for MgCamd.

And You have to edit /var/keys/mg_cfg. The G: line should be G: { 05 } to enable both NewCamd and Camd3.
You could edit the P: line too. To give NevCamd and Camd3 priority it should be P: { 02 }. However, I don't think it should be necessary, if You only got the 2.

To use the lines in CCcam enter the below lines to /var/etc/CCcam.cfg:

N: servername.dyndns.org 22222 login userpassword 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
L: servername.dyndns.org 22222 login userpassword

And You're done. Still trying hard to convince You to use CCcam...:D

Hello,i looked in var/keys,no camd3.servers file only camd3.keys and camd3_cfg.tryed to create via telnet with the command ,touch var/keys/camd3.servers like you said,it come up with not found. In DCC it says telnet and FTP connected, why does it say not found.
PS,would like to use cccam, but because my server uses newcamd and camd3 like you said cannot put those settings in cccam

HaCKaMaC

You can still use CCcam. Even without the hassle You have with MgCamd. Just put the lines in /var/etc/CCcam.cfg like this:

N: servername.dyndns.org 22222 login userpassword 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
L: servername.dyndns.org 22222 login userpassword

1. Start CCcam
2. Open CCcam web-info in Your web browser (http://box.IP.he.re:16001)
3. Click "Servers" button.
4. Under "Host" the dyndns addresses of Your servers should be listed.
5. Under "Connected" the elapsed time since last start/restart of CCcam should be.
6. Under "Cards" the number of cards from each server should be.

Try this and report back how far You get.

Stupid questions are questions not asked.

Just to be sure: Did You put Your box IP instead of box.IP.he.re? You should.

If You did, and the website doesn't open, CCcam is probably not running. You can check if it is by doing following:

Goes for all windows versions except Vista.

1. Click start.
2. Click run.
3. Enter "cmd" (without quotation marks) in dialog and click "OK"
4. Command prompt window opens. Type " telnet 192.168.xxx.xxx" and press "Enter" (exchange 192.168.xxx.xxx with the IP of Your box).
5. You'll be asked for login. Type "root" and press "Enter"
6. You'll be asked for password. Type "eagle" (or whatever Your password is) and press "Enter".
7. You should have root access to the box now. Type "PS" and press "Enter".
8. Go through the screen output and look instances of "CCcam". If You find any, CCcam is running, and we have to look elsewhere for Your problems.

Please report back.

Hello mate,im trying this server as discussed in start of topic,my settings are,cs357x://login:userpassword@servername.dyndns.org:22222
cs357x://login:userpassword@servername.dyndns.org:33333.
do i copy exactly in CCcam.cfg in line N: AND L:these settings are different than the one i have got working.

HaCKaMaC
10-12-08, 21:44
For these lines, You'll have to use L: lines only. The N: lines is for NewCamd protocol servers only.

cs357x://login:userpassword@servername.dyndns.org:22222
cs357x://login:userpassword@servername.dyndns.org:33333

will be:

L: servername.dyndns.org 22222 user password
L: servername.dyndns.org 33333 user password

in /var/etc/CCcam.cfg.

If it's free servers, they often work only for a short time (or periodically).
If You know what You should be able to receive, You can put caid behind the lines. Then You'll be able to add number of hops too.

Example:

L: servername.dyndns.org 22222 user password 0d02 00008c 3

for the UPC 3 hops away.

If You can't get'em working, You could send the real server lines to me by PM. I'll give'em a trial run then.

I just had a try to telnet my Eagle as per the instructions. I get the message back unable to connect using port 23.

So I tried enterning the receiver IP into a browser and it opened up a web control panel. What I did notice was somewhere inside the settings, it mentioned it was using port 1500. (At least from memory thats what it was - and Im not confusing with the MTU setting!)

I changed the port setting mentioned above to 15000 (as Ive seen that mentioned with the servers Ive used) and so far it looks like things have improved! Not sure if the settings within here are just to do with the web browser connection - or would affect CCcam?

Any idea how I could telnet so I could do the screen dump mentioned above?

For the telnet problem:
How far does it go? As far as login or nowhere at all?
What image on box?
What OS on PC? If it's a Windoze something, check if firewall is blocking.

For the browser thingy:
You accessed the web-if. Nothing to do with the CS part.

It was a firewall problem. I opened port 23 and got access.

Anything look dodgy?

One thing thats also worthy of a mention that appears not to be right on the receiver!

There a a few FTA channels on a certain well known satellite, that are not being shown. The details are correct (ie freq/fec etc) and the signal is fine. But I get what actually looks like a scrambled signal being shown. Ive done rescans on the satellite. Often instead of a channel name, it comes up with "SID 0xcc60" for example.

Hi I am setting up my eagle also and reading the post. One of the post says you have to forward the port on your router. Please can sombody explain to me how to do this.Sorry for being a bit of a thicko regards jeffmossy

Port forwarding not needed unless YOU are sharing something yourself.

Pawnee
17-01-09, 20:37
To forward a port have a look here for your router and as already said by guv you do not need this unless you intend to share outside of your own lan.

Do I have to delete the faint example that is in line N and L before I put my line in?

HaCKaMaC
18-01-09, 21:03
Everything with a # in front of it is not read by CCcam (it's out-commented). Therefore no reason to delete it, but it doesn't harm to remove it either.

jeffmossy
18-01-09, 21:17
Sorry to be a pain but does that mean I have to delete the # N: before I put my line in,or do I leave that in and put the line after it

Sequoyah
18-01-09, 22:21
You can leave any line in with # in front of it. Means it is disabled and does nothing. Some are just for comments and instructions. Plus lines not being used.

Hello,is there much different between CCcam 2.0.9,CCcam 2.0.10 and CCcam 2.0.11 when sharing

HaCKaMaC
20-01-09, 22:55
2.0.10 and 2.0.11 should be used without prio file. Only needed in special cases.
Not much of a difference, compared with 2.0.9, for most.

mangy
29-01-09, 21:36
Ok thanks to the reply,i will leave mine on CCcam 2.0.11.just wanted to ask are the hops away important when sharing, does it affect the viewing of channels ,can these be set or not

HaCKaMaC
30-01-09, 22:01
Hops are important. Different encryption systems needs different ECM time, so no "universal" hop limit. Too many hops means picture freezing from time to time.
What do You meam with "can hops be set"?
Initial server can limit the downhops allowed. Following spiders can further reduce, but not increase, the downhops set by initial server.
Client can reduce the number of uphops he want to receive from and downhops he want to share to.
