Make sure you have the latest version of dreamup
http://geronimosden.com/showpost.php?p=14021&postcount=4

Also to change the comm port number in XP try this.

Right click on mycomputer and select properties
Select the Hardware tab
Select Device manager
Select Ports and Communications Port - properties
Select the port settings tab
click the advanced tab
change the port numver from the drop down box.
press ok

Let us know how it goes

Np hope we can get this sorted

Try selecting com 7 same as for your Technomate 1600, reboot the pc.

Make sure the DM500 is plugged out, connect the cable between the pc and dm500.
press the connect on dreamup and plugin the DM500.

Are you using a USB-Serial adapter?

These can be very problematic with DreamUp and work fine with other receiver software.

My advice if you are using a adapter is to use a PC with a proper comport, lend a mates PC if you have to.

Hi all

just in from work, i was thinking the same thing re. my usb adapter. I have used my lappy to flash but with a different adapter. I have also used a number of different bits of hardware on my lappy (Satnav, camera, MP3 player) and as my lappy is basic there may be conflicts. I am going to use my old PC and see what happens, will let you know.

Should have no problems using a pc with an on board serial port.

Flashed OK from my PC. I have the box on a loopthrough and usually load the full image then disable the motor. Either i am missing the obvious or i am stupid cause i cant find the menu where i disable my motor ( i have not done this for a while so i might have forgotton something) I switched the box off and it has gone into a loop (ie the image will not load properly). Back to square one so i am leaving it tonight and watching the footie. Thanks for all your help.

After looking round the forum properly i am in the wrong section. I have an Eagle box and am trying to load the latest Eagle V4 Full. Am i wasting my time trying to disable Disq once the image is loaded or am i missing something.

Pleased to see you managed to load a image with a proper com port mate.

To turn off motor control do the following

Press the menu button-setup-service searching-sat config.

Now scroll and highlight LNB0 and press ok.
Press the blue button for next page and then scroll to Diseqc control and select none

That will turn off motor control.
